If you can, place it back in the socket and hold it in place by gently biting down on it through a clean piece of gauze, or a moist tea bag. If you can’t do that, you should keep the tooth moist by placing it in a tooth-preserving solution, milk, or between your cheek and gums. If your tooth has been partially dislodged, leave it in the socket.

If you crack a tooth, rinse the area with warm water and use a cold compress to combat the swelling and pain. The same steps will work if you chip a tooth, and you should also try to save the pieces, if you can.
