Even though teeth are very strong, there are still instances when something like a fall or a blow to the face can severely fracture or knock out a tooth. There is a chance, if the tooth is completely intact, that Madden Dental might be able implant it back into the socket. However, for this to even be possible the intact tooth must be kept alive, and time is of the essence.

You can keep a knocked-out tooth alive by holding it between your cheek and gums. There are also tooth preservation products on the market. These are often some variety of small canister that is filled with a specially-formulated nourishing gel. All you have to do is place the knocked-out tooth in the jar and seal it. The nourishing gel will keep the tooth alive for a short amount of time, while you make your way to the Madden Dental office.

If the tooth was cracked or fractured, or any part of it remains in the socket, then Dr. Karisha Madden might recommend a root canal to restore the tooth, or a complete extraction of the remaining parts of the tooth.

If your tooth is knocked out, you need to call Madden Dental as soon as possible at (713) 667-8080 to schedule an emergency appointment.
